This is my second Sony digital camera. The first was the Cyber-shot 7.2MP, which was smaller but still a great camera. Eventually the Cyber-shot 7.2 broke and the lens doesn't open properly when turned on. However, there might be sand in it and maybe I just need to clean it. This new 10x, 14.1 megapixel optical camera is the best of its kind. Almost every picture came out well the first time I took it, and I was able to use the panorama function easily without even reading the manual. It's slightly larger than a 7.2 megapixel camera and slightly larger than my Nikon Coolpix S570. Battery life dropped from 50% to ZERO without notice and it would affect me negatively if I didn't go with a spare. . But the decline to 50% took longer than expected. I was glad that the same battery used for their 7.2MP camera also worked in the 14.1MP version. The flash worked well, but often it wasn't even needed. most of my needs. If my camera is stolen or lost I would definitely buy the same model again and would highly recommend this camera to friends, family and co-workers. I couldn't be happier, especially compared to my Nikon, which I really dislike, along with Nikon's tech support, which took ages to help me figure out why some of the wedding photos I took didn't came out! (While they did little to help and it doesn't affect the photos I missed at a relative's wedding!) I highly recommend this SONY camera. I also look forward to buying their next model in a few years.
