Last update: Goodbye teapot - gone too soon (really). I wish we could spend more time together (the spare boiler lasted less than a year). Update: The replacement for the failed first device now fails. It all started with the fact that sometimes it would not turn on and you just had to change the position on the base. Now it's like breaking open an old safe only to set the kettle right on the pedestal so I can have a cup of tea or coffee. Wouldn't recommend if you don't like the thrill of broken electronics. We ordered this and didn't use it for months - we laid it out for guests. When we used it, we initially really liked it. It heats water well, I like that it's made of glass and a stylish bonus. I liked the blue light and the audible click when the switch clicked when it was done; This showed at a glance whether the water was ready. After a while it stopped heating mid-cycle, but the switch was still in the "on" position and eventually turned back on. Sometimes it turned off and on several times before the water boiled. This seems like a security risk to me, which is why I have issued a refund. Revain has simplified this process. The seller really got back to me and sent a replacement with an apology. Our second still works. Sometimes it doesn't work if you don't put the kettle directly on the base. Not that it's a problem, but it does indicate that it might not be the highest quality wiring.
