Review on 🎸 Xvive U2 Guitar Wireless System: 2.4GHz Digital Transmitter & Receiver for Electric Guitar, Bass, Violin & Keyboard by Brett Morrison

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not ready for prime time - wanted to love it

Wow - at first glance this device was absolutely AMAZING. - No wall warts! - No wires! Small and almost invisible! - Good price! I had 2 problems with it: 1. The connector is VERY loose on my Bass Ric 4001. It just never felt tight and kinda flopped and I thought it was going to fall out. 2. Then a deal breaker: if your band uses wireless digital mixers (Mackie 1608, Behringer X32, etc.), these U2s will get in the way. I play in several bands and our sound team use digital wireless mixers that allow us to mix our own IEM monitor mixes using an iPad. For me as a singer and multi-instrumentalist this is very important. Our drummer and guitarist do that too. SECOND I turned on U2, all 3 of us lost signal on our ipad mixers. I tried it on another channel and it was the same. Suddenly we're all getting "TRYING TO CONNECT" error messages and none of us can shuffle our stuff. As soon as I turned off the U2 everything was back to normal and working. Unfortunately I had to use a cable for my bass and the U2s (I ordered 2) were immediately sent back to Revain. Of course I was disappointed. Xvive has a good product. The packaging is very well done, the device is very compact and the price is right. I will say that the handprint is incredibly small - why not bigger under the foam liner of the box? I had high hopes read so many rave reviews and watched tons of review videos but, in the end U2 was useless to me. Do not use the 5 GHz band instead of the 2.4 GHz band for these devices. The 2.4 GHz network, which is the most commonly used for Internet systems, is guaranteed to be very busy. Why not go where the road doesn't lead (quote from Ringo)? If these guys ever build a 5GHz block I'll try again. A great idea. good view Excellent packaging. But it just doesn't work in a real live situation when using digital wireless mixing consoles. If you're using an analog board and not wireless hardware (2018?), everything is fine. If you're using the latest and greatest version, you might want to switch to a different system.
