This is an essential item for young children. You are so funny! No batteries, great design, colorful and well made. That's what we want from a toy. My grandchildren started watching the cars drive, how they move. Then they started to crawl after them again and again. Soon they will figure out how to move and then they will have a new level of fun with these cute vehicles. You will be surprised how fast and how far these cars can go. They can bounce off walls and keep moving. The school bus in both sets we bought doesn't go straight, which is a bit odd, but by no means a deal breaker. The wheels are attached with zipper and velcro so you can clean the toy properly. Highly recommend and would make a great birthday gift.
