Review on Promithi Effort-Saving Kitchen Knife: Japanese High Stainless Steel Blade with Physics-Driven Design for Ultimate Cutting and Slicing Experience by Wei Fan

Great knife good for chef knife

I really like this knife. As others have said it is very sharp and has retained its sharpness after a few months of use. The position of the handle really gives you extra leverage when trying to slice through large, hard objects like a piece of cheese or a head of cabbage. It also feels more secure as all your cutting power pushes straight down from the top with a large handle that gives your hand a secure grip, unlike most knives where you hold a narrow handle angled to the side that handle does not provide a secure grip. I hope to see more knives using this concept for handle placement in the future. The only negative and the reason I gave it 4 stars is the handle design. It's a solid metal shaft with material like pieces of wood attached on each side to form a handle. On my knife, the pieces of wood that make up the handle don't fully enclose the top of the tang. It's very thin, but basically you have a tiny strip of shaft sticking out of the grip material. Since it is only on the top and has a very small overhang, it is hardly noticeable when using the knife. Overall, the grip still feels solid, so I don't think the two side panels will come loose any time soon. This is more of a quality control issue than anything else.
