Review on πŸͺ’ MÜHLE TRADITIONAL R41 Double Edge Safety Razor (Open Comb) – Premium Men's Razor for Daily Use, Superior Barbershop Quality Close & Smooth Shaving Experience by Dawn Ohara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent design; Junk stuff

I'm editing this review because I've had the shaver for a few months alternating with a few others. I have raised my star rating from 2 to 4. As stated below in the original review, I disagree with this review. My initial views on materials and sense of cheapness didn't change at all, but it still worked perfectly. It deserves more than five stars for the quality of the shave (smooth, comfortable and absolutely irritation-free). But I just can't get over how cheaply made it is. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I cannot stress enough the poor quality of the materials on this razor. I don't think it will last more than a month or so. Even if it lasts a long time, it is still so uncomfortable in the hand: it looks like a toy or those disposable razors that you can buy by the dozen in every pharmacy. It's not solid metal, I'm assuming it's a (fake) metal-coated plastic. This is the lightest full length DE razor I've ever used (I weighed all mine on a gram scale after realizing this razor was ridiculously light). This razor is only one to two grams heavier than my small Merkur travel razor. However, the structure, shape and design are very good. I'm struggling with the star rating as the extent to which bad materials detract from it is tremendous, but so far it's been a quality shave. Pros: - General design. - The exposed teeth of the comb are nicely rounded. Unlike some other open brushes that feel like running a fork across my face, this one is beautifully smooth. Cons: - Cheap cheap materials! so in general it takes some effort to shave. While mine hasn't broke (yet) as some other reviews state, I've only used it a couple of times. I really don't expect this to last long.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
