Review on Digital Protractor DXL360S Inclinometer 0 01°Resolution by Mark Bearden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

works great, 2 axes only in horizontal mode

++ Display refresh rate is ok, could be faster, but then OCD kicks in ;) I wish the xy measurement was also vertical Mounting works (upright on one of the four sides), but this only works if its back is on the ground. Once you tilt to a certain angle, it only switches to 1 axis. ++ The fake bubble gauge is useful - I didn't think so, but it is :) I also like that the gauge shows + and - degrees. I had another 1 axis and it showed "89°" for example both left and right of 90°. This shows the direction very clearly, nice. ++ The device has an easy to navigate menu for calibration and beeps, absolutely amazing, I didn't see that in the description: you can turn on the beep when the sensor is either *in* to a certain degree or up to degrees located *outside* a certain degree and also change the required precision. For example, if you set it to 24°, +-0.35°, INSIDE, the sensor will beep between 23.65° and 24.35°. When set to OUTSIDE, the audio signal will stop within this range. There are different settings for Axis 1, X-Axis, Y-Axis! What's missing is turning on the beep ONLY for the x-axis or ONLY for the y-axis when you zero the scale on one axis and measure tilt on the other axis. The display has a thin plastic layer and is a bit wobbly. I would suggest leaving the plastic protective layer that came with it to better protect it from scratches.
