I bought this cable to increase the range of my Logitech M325 mouse, I did some research and found that an 'active' USB cable is recommended for longer distances. I didn't need more than a 20 foot cable, but I couldn't find a reasonably priced 20 foot active cable so I gave this one a try. Here's what I did: I connected the plug to the laptop and put the Logitech key in the cable socket. As soon as I put the mouse button in the cable, my laptop would reboot all my USB sticks that I had plugged into my laptop. I have a 128GB flash drive and a 1TB Seagate external drive plugged into two of the three USB ports on my laptop. From about 10 feet away, the mouse didn't work at all, no movement on the laptop screen. I placed the mouse button, still attached to the cable, a few inches from the mouse and still no response. So I decided to send the cable back. Might work for other purposes, but this didn't work for my purpose of extending the range of my Logitech M325 mouse.
