I would like to give this item a higher rating, I am writing this review after using the filter device for a year in addition to buying 3 more filters which were changed every 3 months , or so. It was a fairly basic kitchen setup. The company offers additional washers and adapters. I followed the directions and ran cold water for a while, maybe 5-10 minutes. I was surprised at the taste. I live in New York and we say we have the tastiest tap water, but the plumbing on our streets is old. The reason I didn't rate it higher is the subsequent filters which I changed every 3 months. Although the filter is rated to last 6 months to a year, I noticed a change in the taste of the water when the original filter ran 5-6 months. As with any filter product, water quality depends on the water source. As I said, I initially liked this water filter, but due to the quality control that follows the filter, I found it difficult to rate it higher. Look at the photo, is this normal for you?
