First let me state that this is not a paid review and I did not receive a discount. I currently have the following - QC2, QC15, QC20, QC25x2 and QC35ii. It was a collection that has grown with me over the years. Now I bought this bluetooth adapter out of pure curiosity. I've always wanted to try one of these adapters and was wondering if an adapter like this is worth the price when there are many BT headphones out there that cost a lot less. I chose this particular adapter for four reasons: a) Charge without having to turn off the device b) Standard USB 2.0 Micro-B (5 pin) cables can be used c) The logo doesn't stick out like other brands huh the appearance will affect QC25.d) At the time of purchase, this adapter was $10 cheaper than other brands. Overall impression: a) The product is well assembled. b) Formation is perfect. c) No squeaking. works fast (red LED indicator). f) Very easy to connect up to two devices (flashing blue LED indicator when connected). Bluetooth automatically connects when the adapter is turned on. g) Voice prompts were not as loud or harsh as some have claimed. Maybe the manufacturer muted it. Sound Quality a) There is no drop in volume just because it's wireless. But the volume from this adapter on my MacBook Air was quieter compared to my iPhone. On the iPhone I can't turn the volume all the way up, 75-80% is enough and I'm listening to music loud. b) Bluetooth range is decent. c) I did not notice any sound/music loss. d) I wore my QC25 with this adapter for several hours in the cold at about 32 degrees; it didn't die for me e) sound quality didn't drop noticeably or appreciably either, even sounded a bit brighter (only very slightly) got the flu but that's not the adapter's fault, it's just Bose sound without ANC from QC20 . I don't think it's fair to compare the QC25 (with or without this adapter). ) with QC35ii if at first they are not even the same. But if you must know, I did a general sound comparison. In terms of active noise cancellation, I personally think the QC25 performs better than the QC35ii. But in terms of sound, the wired QC25 isn't as warm/smooth as the QC35ii, and the soundstage isn't as wide (with a small margin). To be honest with the QC25, remember that I'm comparing it to the QC35ii. So do you need to upgrade to QC35ii if you get this adapter? The honest answer is no, because even at this price point (which I found a bit high) this adapter is a really serious and impressive addition. So, to all spouses, please don't use this against your spouse's wishes for the QC35ii, as it has a) better battery life, b) an app to use, c) less cumbersome, d) a built-in one-switch feature to Turning has on the machine, e) it is more pleasant to press buttons. What I do not like? a) To rewind the track, press and hold the volume button under or -. To play or play the previous track, press and hold the volume up or + button. It's really illogical. Easy software fix... but don't assume this adapter is user/software upgradeable. I use my Apple Watch to manage tracks so I have no problem. b) You will need to put a very small piece of double sided tape where the buttons are so the tape acts as a cushion/buffer between the adapter and the headphones when pressed. Otherwise you will hear a very faint sound when plastic hits plastic. Warning: Please use a VERY small piece of tape or you will have a hard time removing them like I did the first time. A word of advice: using dental floss I was able to cut through the double sided tape without leaving any scratches on either device. Will i buy it again? Absolutely, and I'm wondering if I should get it for my QC15 too.
