When I was disassembling my Mac Mini to replace my hard drive with a solid state drive, I damaged a fan connector. Ouch! Replaced it with this one and it's impossible to tell that this fan is any different from the original. Remember. Just because it's in an Apple product doesn't mean it's made by Apple. Many components are provided by third parties such as fans, drives, memory, etc. PS If you are replacing your own HDD with an SSD and your fan is running at full speed 100%, I strongly recommend that you buy a TG. Pro to control fan speed. TG Pro lets you override onboard controls (which don't work with SSDs). Since one license can be used on three computers, I installed it on all three of my Macs. Now my computers run slower, which increases their lifespan.
