Professional quality stereo recorder. I bought this to replace a Sony ICD-PX312 DVR that broke down about a week after the warranty expired. I couldn't be happier with my new device. The work is simple, flexible and logical; sound quality is good; Speech recognition speed with Dragon Naturally Speaking is excellent. Overall, I expect this device to last; Unlike Sony, it's solidly built - like a small brick. The controls are solid and solid, unlike the Sony - although the Sony has been little used and then used fairly. It's very well designed. It offers a USB connector plug that you can connect to your computer; This allows you to charge the recorder's batteries and transfer files directly to applications (like Dragon) on your system. Speech recognition is automatic (and very accurate); Simply drag and drop your dictation file into Dragon and the rest is done automatically. Finally, it has an instruction manual that you will never lose. It is saved as a PDF file in the recorder's memory. All in all a very well thought out and very solid construction.
