I also had one for hiking and airsoft. He didn't have weak elbows. I didn't even realize that this one had soft elbows. Honestly, I shouldn't care. But it's the kind of padding you'd find on mouse pads with wrist rests or on translucent blue gel soles on shoes. The pads don't stay in place at all - they're light enough to move with the fabric and stiff enough to move the fabric itself. It looks and feels like a piece of cardboard that happens to be sticking out of your sleeves around the elbow but not in the elbow itself. Funny shirt, sent back because I'm embarrassed I look so stupid.
