I have tried many laptop stands and this one stands out for the following reasons.1. The silicone pad protects the laptop from scratches, and lifting it off the stand slightly to allow for better airflow is much better than other stands I've seen. Silicone is also used to keep the stand on the surface you are using.2. The height adjustment is very good as you can adjust the stand to different angles and not restrict the angle or adjustment that many other stands offer. The hinge is constructed very rigidly to provide this feature. It might seem like a small feature, but the fine-tuning ability allows you to place it according to your preferences.3. I tried this with Macbook Pro, Dell 15 XPS and Alienware 17 R4. They all fit this stand very well and are very solid, the laptop doesn't move on the stand.4. The stand is very portable. It folds almost flat and can be slipped into a bag or suitcase for easy carrying.
