Not compostable after a year in a compost bin

so I actually compost. They are not composted. If you buy them and want to compost them, they've been in my composter for over a year and show no signs of rotting. I had to compost to remove them and throw them away. And no, they don't decompose in a landfill. It's either just plastic or some material that breaks down in 20 years. Everyone seems happy that they're durable, but that's because they're mostly plastic straws. It won't help the environment, don't be fooled and ruin your compost, get reusable glass or metal straws instead.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good
