Copper brake pads sound like a great idea on paper. Copper is a good conductor so it needs to stay cold. Excessive heat is very bad when it comes to your brakes. I should have listened to the reviews. They are loud. When you apply the brakes, they seem about to fail. It's kind of a grating, hissing, creaking sound. If I hadn't been warned I would have been worried! I believe it's copper flakes mixed with pad material. They hold up great though and I'm sure the split construction and copper material help dissipate heat very well. I'll keep them, but when it's time for the next brake change I'll stick with traditional materials.
