This is like regular chalk somehow imbeded into a waxy substance to make it ? stronger or more easy to handle perhaps. It doesn't rub off or disappear--which isn't quite as good as it sounds. I used the yellow "chalk" to mark on blue cotton shirting and even after washing my shirt, the yellow can be seen quite clearly.
