With the analog gaming headset I have connected here, there is a very high level of crosstalk between the microphone and headphone. Anything played in the headphones feeds into the mic output - problematic if you're using it for VOIP as it creates an echo reverberation effect for the other speaker, making it difficult for them to speak in their own delayed voice . If I only use a short adapter that separates the two signals (2-channel microphone and 2-channel headphones as a separate 3.5mm stereo mini-jack), this crosstalk occurs, but only at a very low level , which can only be a headphone picking up the microphone . Exit. While I'd like to have just one cable to my headset, it looks like I'll have to use two if I want reliable signal separation.
