A pound of star anise takes about half the jar. I tossed the last couple cinnamon sticks from an empty 1-lb pack but will probably just mix-and-match the 2 in this jar when I open another bulk cinnamon bag, which will be a great space saver rather than having two larger jars occupying space. This one taller jar fits in a smaller footprint than the 2 other jars I was using. These two are the larger whole herbs of a 5-herb mix I've been blending while using so it's a great solution for that. It's also visually pleasing and very earthy and grounding in the glass. Glad there's an extra silicone gasket because if I change my mind and want to store something else, the existing one will have that (delicious but) irremovable licorice scent from the star anise. Could see getting more of these for other projects, fantastic jar at a great price.
