This is solid metal with amazing build quality for less money. So I hated it when I first installed it. The pressure increased. I didn't want to install it as a vertical "rain" head. I wanted a powerful but large vaporizer that was mounted horizontally. At first, the arch of water was only about 18 inches from the head. I've seen in reviews that it's possible to remove the green plastic pressure regulator and drastically improve performance. so i did. Wow what a difference! The water pressure could hit the other wall of my 48 inch shower without sacrificing much headroom. I love it. My wife thought it was great until she was left with conditioner in her hair when the water got cold. This has happened 4 times now. Look, we need a new water heater, and we're going to buy one, but this thing goes in the water as soon as you remove this regulator. I like to shower, but I'm bald. My wife has long hair and freezes every time she showers. So if you need head, aren't afraid to pour gallons of water down the drain, and you have a water heater that can handle this shower head, then this is for you. I have no idea how many gallons per minute without this regulator, but I have a 15 year old 40 gallon tank that has never cooled in the last 10 years.
