There is a learning curve and the instructions are terrible but this is a great kit

I've been a sailor for decades - I've used an earlier version of this for what seems like forever. A HUGE improvement in their quality but as others have said the instructions are terrible and some think it takes a lot of hand strength. Not like that, but they don't tell you HOW to use a vise. When I get home I intend to send a photo of the original instructions that were less or worse. (Bad English but I hope you understand). And the packaging for this version is just plain stupid. The only instructions are on the box, and it's usually thrown away. (and although the packaging designer designed the packaging to hang in the window, it's INSIDE the box!) I cut open the box so the pieces are visible as shown in the photos above, good luck finding it. without her! The system works well >> if you know how to use it << (2* deduction for ease of use - for lack of instructions). and knowing which parts work with which dies (2* trigger for easy installation - also for lack of instructions) Re-crimp. First of all you should check and double check that they are aligned. And you'll waste a few trying to figure it out. So I suggest doing a test or two before trying it on your real project. The comment requires too much force - and I agree IF you're trying to do it in a crimp. But I adjust the vise for a firm grip. and if you can't squeeze it, turn it back 1/4 or 1/2 turn or so until you can close it. THEN raise the lever, but don't move the knobs - tighten the screw 1/4 or 1/2 turn and retighten - do this a couple of times and eventually you'll reach a point where You either "know" that it's tight enough. or you just can't re-tighten the last piece. The reason for this is, IF you have the lever closed in the almost closed closed position >>to<<really push, then you have a MUCH greater mechanical advantage if you push it just a little bit each time! I would give it 5 stars on an excellent rating, but the packaging and the lack of instructions are just stupid. Whoever owns the company needs to fix all these simple things RIGHT NOW! JohnWD3PS - just tested the kit - WOW they have made improvements to the design, head selection and nozzle manufacture! In the past I had to wrap plastic tape around the vise's gripping surface to hold the bits in place (exactly as directed in #2). Mine were tight enough that I had to pry them off with a screwdriver. and that's good! Personally, I'm really excited to find a new kit (not under the same name) and hope you find these tips helpful, without them I'd have to settle for the low reviews others have given! Much luck!
