I bought and installed this extension and so far everything has been easy. When I tested the download and upload speeds (the extender was almost next to the router), the speed was half that of the main WiFi. I called support and we tried different things like sending it to the engineering team. A few days later I got a message from them about a troubleshooting session and that I had sent multiple time slots. The next day I heard that the half speed extender was expected as it is a half duplex extender and if I wanted another troubleshooting session. I wasn't expecting an increase in speed but was disappointed that their product description didn't say anything more than half. Duplex and halving download/upload speed. I hope TP Link is more transparent about the speed reduction. I'll send it back soon.
