I've only used it once to squeeze 6 lemons - about 300ml of juice - and it did the job perfectly. I bought it reluctantly as there were so many complaints here. Although I know that many companies reduce quality to keep prices down, I was happy with other Proctor Silex products and decided to give it a try. That and I really like the yellow :) In response to the concerns I got from other reviews: 1) I didn't find it noisy at all - just a normal hum like every other kitchen appliance I have. 2) At first I was afraid to press hard because many have documented broken plastic parts, but if you don't press you don't compress. So far nothing has broken. Yes, it would be better if these turning mechanisms were metal. 3) Until I felt the motor was weak as it worked and didn't break. 4) We like pulp, but I used low pulp settings. I thought the seeds might come through. He caught ALL the seeds! I was very impressed. When I did it by hand, I always got a lot of seeds in the juice, which I then had to fish out. I can't comment on whether a low pulp setting means no pulp. It definitely has less pulp than my manual juicer. 5) I didn't have to clean it at all while juicing! I had to flush my manual juicer 4-5 times to get 250ml of juice. can be annoying Small boxes push juice through. 5) I appreciate the measurements on the mug. We make a gallon of lemonade at least once a week and I'll be back with an update if anything changes. I usually have pain in my wrist and elbow for several hours after manually squeezing a lemon. If this little helper can save me, I'll be happy with my $15 purchase! To save the engine if it's really weak, maybe let it rest and don't push too hard.
