I used 2 pairs to mount 4 (2 front, 2 rear) Klipsch R-51M speakers on my cinema ceiling. The design is very flexible and I ended up installing them at the bottom of the speaker to be closer to the ceiling. However, if you need them deeper, they can be mounted differently and even further away with an extension cable. You can thread the wire through the hollow tube from the ceiling and through one of the holes on the sides. It was easily able to hold the 11 pound speakers I have and seems like it could certainly carry a lot more. It feels very secure and has the ability to adjust the angle and direction.
