This is a fun set but the instructions are complicated. You have to look carefully at each photo and pick out small details before assembling the part. It would be wise to use a razor blade to cut through the attached straps before removing the piece. In this case, too, a small piece of veneer sometimes breaks off. If you don't live in an area with optimal humidity, the parts will warp. This will cause startup issues when you're done. If your clock only runs for a while, look at all the gears and make sure that one or more are not touching adjacent gears or the cage due to deformation. Be careful not to disengage the gears you want to engage. Move the problematic gears around the shaft, trying to find the best balance so they don't get in the way, but also don't fall out later when the clock is running, or interfere with something else when it's spinning. Initially my watch only ran for 10-15 seconds, but after adjusting five gears and re-adjusting one of them, my watch now runs in just over six hours until the mainspring fires. It keeps time pretty well after I set the weight in the pendulum.
