After reading and finding several studies showing that Ornithine HCL can help improve sleep quality (probably by lowering cortisol), I bit in the sour apple and decided to give it a try. I chose this product because it is well priced, the brand has good reviews and the keto glutarate salt seems to improve the effects and bioavailability of ornithine. The dose used in the studies was 500 mg ornithine HCl, which is approximately 400 mg ornithine. For OKG salt, you'll need about 800 mg, since keto-glutarate makes up about half the weight. After taking 800 mg 30-60 minutes before bed I can say my sleep has gotten deeper. I judge this by how many times I wake up to change position which seems to have diminished. I wake up feeling pretty much the same as before, but I don't feel the need to jump back into bed. I will continue to use this to see if the effects build up over time or if they are acute.
