I'm looking for a way to connect my condenser microphone directly to an Android phone and I bought the product because I thought that a digital connection would offer better sound quality analog . My setup runs a singing app on my phone so I can hear the music as well as my voice through the adapter while my voice is being recorded by the app. Well the recorded audio is of good quality but the audio from the monitor jack is very noisy and a bit distorted. I tried different headphones but they all sounded the same. It's a shame to have to return this otherwise good product. Update: As the technical lead, I suspected that the corruption was caused by a software incompatibility. So I was able to set up the iPad Mini and try again. In fact, the distortion is gone! My theory is that the application/OS needs to process both digital output and input signals during recording, and cannot do it fast enough, so some of the control signals are discarded to ensure maximum input quality. Apparently iOS or an iOS app is better at encoding/decoding these digital signals fast enough to guarantee quality.
