First of all I like that this collar is one size fits all as sizing can be very difficult. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering at all. My girl showed no signs of discomfort which I think is due to the silicone type material as she hates traditional collars. The main reason I bought it was because I was recommended to try it on my cat who is having problems. Adaptation to moving to a new home, causing her to urinate in random places or in laundry baskets. Lately she was overwhelmed with everything and nothing was working. This collar worked almost immediately. She allowed us to give her love and comfort, she stopped writing immediately and now she feels at home. I recommend this product 100%.
