This product is good when everything works as it should. This would be great for burst shooting or if you have spare batteries for the gimbal and your connected camera to charge through the gimbal. Pros: 1. Stability works great. Everything is smooth as butter and there are multiple tracking options that are sure to get you the shot you want. The battery life is surprisingly long. It easily survives 2 GoPro batteries. (Do not use to charge the camera).3. Excellent ergonomics and handling. Once you get used to how it works, the controls and ergonomics are very good. If you add a stand with folded legs at the bottom, it becomes quite long. This allows you to make it even longer for the camera (for selfies or to shoot from a different angle). Excellent stuff. It's made of metal and some parts are rubberized. Feels high quality and is very durable. Cons: 1. Camera positioning. You can face it upside down when the power button is not available, or vice versa when the charging input is not available. After using it for a while I found a suitable solution by placing it right side up 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the edge. This way you could pinch your finger to turn it on and off and still access the GoPro.2's charging port. camera mount. You will need to loosen and tighten the 2 screws by hand if you need to remove the camera. No plate mount with quick lock/unlock system. This will wear down the threads of the mount and the screws will easily scratch the black paint after only a few uses. Why do you have to turn your camera on and off all the time? Good if you need to replace the battery or micro SD card even if you need to use GoPro when the gimbal is too big for the environment.3. Unstable wireless connection. First, make sure you have set your camera's Wi-Fi setting to 2.4GHz as the gimbal does not support 5.0GHz. For some reason, the gimbal doesn't always see the GoPro when pairing, and it sometimes takes multiple attempts to connect. Second, you need a phone and an app to pair the gimbal with the camera. Once connected, you no longer need your phone and it will most likely stay connected. However, about 5-10% of the time, the connection just drops for no reason. Then you have to pull out our phone and establish the connection again. Sometimes when you turn off the stabilizer and turn it on again later (even after an hour, sometimes it can automatically connect to the camera). Also, sometimes the stabilizer shows that it is connected to the camera, but the button does not start the camera recording. There were numerous occasions where I had to press a button, look for a camera to start, and repeat five times before it actually started. So is trying to pause the footage sometimes. However, it works on the first press about 90% of the time (but you should always check to make sure you're not missing any footage or getting a 15-minute video of the ground as you walk). 4. Discharging the battery on the camera. I think it's due to the constant WiFi connection, but I found my GoPro was always hot even on standby and the battery just drained even without filming. So the choice is yours: toggle it on and off and hope the WiFi reconnects on its own, or let the battery drain. Black color scratches easily. I was very careful but the paint appears to be PVD coated and comes off fairly easily. I prefer to have black plastic or rubber glued on later so that it doesn't look old so quickly. Long on and off times. To conserve battery power, I had to turn it on and off frequently. Turning it off isn't too bad, but it seems like it takes forever to turn on as you stare at the tiny screen. I understand you don't want to accidentally turn it on. However, I think holding 3 seconds is enough, no need to make it to 5 or whatever.7. Controls can be difficult to remember. Most controls are done with two buttons and how many times you press them in a row. (i.e. twice forward to reset position). Most likely, you will remember only a few commands and will not be able to fully use all the functions of the stabilizer. It may go without saying, but you can't install it while it's still activated. It turns the knob very quickly and then triggers the auto shut off. I ended up returning it mainly because of the editing, the wireless connection, and the camera's battery drain. Due to battery drain, I have to take the camera apart to replace the battery and reinstall it several times a day. A wireless connection not working or not connecting will only make it worse (even if it's only 5-10% of the time). However, with limited options, it can still be the best option.
