I was very excited at the prospect of being able to use many colors with the water brush but was very disappointed. Colors were okay, although some were so faded they were barely visible. And that's fine if that's the shade you want. But when I applied the colors with the water brush, the color was uneven, and no matter how fast I worked I could still see the original strokes, which wasn't what I wanted. I tried picking up the paint from the pen tips with a brush and applying it that way, but it didn't work for my purpose. If you want to paint with it, use a water brush to soften the lines and edges, it works. But if you want to paint some areas, even small ones, you either have to fill them completely with paint or know that you will end up with an uneven color. I donated my entire set to a local organization that collects and sells crafts.
