When I first received the filter I could hear the filter material moving when the filter canister was shaken. I figured they would save money by half filling the filter canister with filter material, so I left a bad review. But after prolonged contact with water the filter material hydrates or gels or something and it stops moving and the filter canister seems to have a more even weight distribution. The loose filter media may need to leave room for the water to swell.
