Chair is nice and well padded (good thickness). However, when my little grandson sits in it, all the styrofoam balls fly around on the back of the chair. This makes the seat look like a wedge with a narrow front, which makes it difficult to sit comfortably. As it was a gift I cannot return it. I wouldn't spend that much money on it anymore. Can't comment on durability as my grandson uses it a lot.
