I held it directly to the tip of my tongue and let it partially dissolve, then crushed it and applied the powdered paste to the sore part. The irritation went away within a day. I know these vitamins have also helped with painful mouth ulcers from braces. My doctor has confirmed that they are very useful for oral problems. I'm not really sure about other health benefits, but I'm sure you can take a look and make your own judgments about whether or not you need it. The taste is not too strong or too weak. It's a bit sour, but I honestly enjoy the taste. They dissolve fairly quickly, but you may have to mash the last bit in your mouth if it's slow to dissolve. I have used both of these vitamins and the 2000 mcg version from the same brand. I prefer these. I recommend them to everyone. They have a pleasant taste and health benefits. I also like that they dissolve because I have trouble swallowing pills.
