Review on ๐ŸŽ’ Hoover C2401 Commercial Lightweight Backpack Vacuum Cleaner by Lawrence Allison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great vacuum, fantastic suction BUT poor customer service, instruction manual, cord management and access to accessories

If it Without Hoover's terrible customer service experience, I would never have realized that there are actually two versions of the attachments for this vacuum cleaner, one more for commercial cleaning (C-2401), the other more for residential cleaning (C-2401). 2401-010). I originally purchased the previous version, which arrived in just a few hours with Revain Prime's 2-day shipping (kudos Revain). However, the box had the wrong socket for the attachments, which made them "unpluggable". The Hoover customer service phone line closes in the early evening and I have to wait until the next day to resolve the issue. After waiting on hold for what seemed like forever, a support rep arranged for delivery of the correct (fingers crossed) connector. However, Hoover had the gall to spend another little eternity to get me this plug cheap: 7-10 business days! Unacceptable! With my dilapidated Dyson vacuum cleaner breaking, the long wait forced me to either hire a cleaner or put up with the dust. Luckily I found out about the C2401-010 version of the vacuum which comes with a shorter straight nozzle and is better for cleaning. short faces. So I ordered the Royal Dirt Devil Wand, Ry4000 C2401-010 1 1/4' 2Pc Chrome Straight which was an additional $33.76 ($232.48 total). The wand arrived the next day. After putting a piece of strong tape on the end of the wand that connected to the flexible tubing, I was ready to try this contraption. Let me tell you that my Dyson's suction power is downright shameful! The nozzles are easy to change. I ended up literally looking for more dust to pick up! I'm 5ft 3in and can easily carry the device on my back. It can get heavy after an hour, but with this suction power, I don't have to suck for that long. Entering the small bathroom, I simply took the device off my back and let it lie on the floor in the hallway or carry it in my arms. The 48ft cable is simply an extension that can be used for other applications. Likewise, if it is more convenient in a country house, it can be replaced with a shorter extension cord. So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this straight nozzle vacuum cleaner. I hope you don't have to deal with bad customer service. As for further improvements, neither the manual nor the cable management nor the access to the attachment are optimal. I'll probably make a little apron that can hold the tools in place. Hoover, I hope you're listening!

Pros
  • Extra long 48ft 3-prong quick-change power cord, less frequent switching outlets between cleanings
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
