I bought this feeder with the Mammoth Yellow Thistle Feeder and is more difficult to fill and clean and more prone to water getting the seeds through the hole in the top of the lining gets a lid. I've had other feeders that had a thin steel wire through the top cover and they all leaked water and damaged the seeds. Because this is the length of the cord, it's not easy to shorten it for use with an overhead rain cover or baffle, which is necessary for water protection. Both feeders are sold at the same price and we recommend the Mammoth Yellow Distle Feeder for its best design.
