I bought a size larger than the recommended size for my daughter. It was still stiff, made of very thick material, and the sweatshirt was ridiculously small, like size for a small flat-headed kid, not an average-headed kid. And it absolutely doesn't work if your kid has hair that needs to be tied back or tied up. It covered about half of my daughter's head. Pros: The sleeves were a good length but remember I ordered a size larger than recommended.
