Instructions are shockingly confusing - definitely written by an engineer! They could really improve this product with more detailed instructions as this unit can definitely be installed by an experienced homeowner and the cost savings are well worth it. I've been a fan of 3M's under-counter filtration systems for years and wasn't aware of this offering. But as I moved into my new home and considered the possibilities of reverse osmosis, it was the 3M brand that I trusted the most. recommends not installing a drain line on a pipe that connects to a sewer. But if you don't have two sinks in your sink, it's difficult to find a place for a drain! The instructions didn't give any alternatives. When installing, remember to leave room for the top cover - I installed my filters too close to the case latch and this meant I had to cut out part of the cover to make it fit. with a different hot water faucet than the insinkerator, but the unit comes with an "air gap" faucet. Make sure the faucet you choose has an air gap, otherwise the hoses will not fit. After installation, I really appreciated the water quality. Overall, I'm very glad I bought this device and added the "hero status" that I've earned by actually figuring out how to install it!
