Okay, here we go. It's hard to fret as I assumed they weren't authentic just because of the price but thought I'd give them a try anyway. First note: I already have a working pair of original Samsung headphones that have been tuned by AKG and they sound fantastic. This pair was bought for someone else but I decided to test them first. Secondly, I have a very experienced ear as I am used to working with professional audio studio equipment which I recognize as AKG. This couple sounds very different. They don't have the bass response that you can hear in my original AKG matched pair. Also, the sound isn't balanced, so they lack clarity between frequencies, and your ear can easily tire when listening at higher volumes. Finally, the ear fit is a bit off. On the other hand, they sound like typical mid-range headphones. I usually spend $15-$20 on a pair like this, so at $12 for this pair with free shipping, I feel like I got what I paid for.
