I enjoyed my first two weeks, feeling close to each baby and being able to turn over to tend to each one without taking my head off the pillow. BUT here are the cons: - The thing is huge, heavy, doesn't slide. So after the birth I had to crawl into bed on all fours. My D/D babies didn't want to see/touch/hear each other so they just woke each other up when they were that close. A few weeks ago I tried putting them back in there because I don't want them to go to waste and the bigger they are the more they wake each other up. They shake the entire upper block when stretched or kicked. Both girls hate sleeping on their backs and hate being swaddled with their arms down so even in sleeping bags they could never feel comfortable or lulled. They only wanted to be held for the first few weeks and cried when we put them on the floor. Gadgets suck. The batteries lasted one night and had to be disassembled to change them. The vibration function can hardly be felt, so it is practically useless. I breastfed my children in tandem and the alarm never worked for me because of the sound machine we have. The night light function is useless, just buy a Himalayan salt lamp. Warm cozy light on a dimmer. Both girls have laryngomalacia and reflux and Halo does not recommend propping up mattresses to tip because the sides of the bassinet are short and not designed for that, I agree. Block for me to put extra pillows or things that would normally be on my bedside table as I don't have time right now. Since I bought it before giving birth, I can't return it because I missed the return deadline. I would suggest getting two cheap cribs or mini cribs and two car rock 'n' music. You can always put babies together in one of the cradles if they wish, but be prepared if they have to sleep tucked up. Mine are 10 weeks old and they sleep 8 hours straight in their rock 'n' roll shows. I use a head shaping pillow to support their heads and don't need the rocking feature very often these days. Eventually I'll put her in a crib where I'll have a wedge and folded blankets under the sheets to lull her to sleep. One more piece of advice if you really want to convince yourself that that bassinet is the one thing you can't live without. Make sure (like me) to use the completion discount from your Revain registration (worth having one just for that). I could save a lot of money but I didn't think about it.
