Cures very slowly

This is a casting epoxy mixing kit. Unlike most craft resin mixes designed for casting resin, this mix has a 2:1 mix formula. You need to mix 8-10 minutes instead of 3-5. It is very runny and thin and stays that way for several days. That is, hours worked are measured in days, not minutes. The minimum temperature to cure is 70ยฐF. I have found this resin to work for some resin moldings but you will need a lot of patience for it to cure. This resin is definitely for casting countertops and bars, not sculpting. For casting, it works well for very complex shapes like snowflakes, as capillary action distributes the resin evenly over the shapes. I tried this resin in a 3" deep figure mold. After 4 days of curing, the core of the figure was still tacky. Meanwhile, the smaller flat objects were finally ready to be removed from the molds after 4 days for trimming. When using regular epoxy, objects are typically ready for finishing in as little as 12 hours On the plus side, because this epoxy is very thin it doesn't pick up bubbles, so if you want bubble free resin and wait all week leave it until your projects have dried this will work. I haven't noticed any particularly strong odors when working with this resin. Generally this resin is clear and bubble free once dry but takes a very, very long time to cure compared to craft resins.
