I like the spout mechanism but overall this item didn't work properly. I have a KitchenAid Classic with a 4.5 liter stainless steel bowl. The splash guard was on top of the bowl and didn't really snap into place so any movement/bump would cause the lid to fall off. It also prevented any mess when mixing. The flour could come out of the holes around the bowl. In the end it turned out to be just an extra thing that needed washing. It's a very thin plastic so I wouldn't recommend washing it in the dishwasher and being careful not to drop it. Maybe it's better for a glass bowl?
