I'm interested in voice acting and singing and before Yeti I used Blue Snowball for about four years. The Snowball was great in every way with one exception, and that was the incredible amount of background noise it picked up. So on my birthday I finally had enough to afford an upgrade, and a friend who is also into my craft recommended the Yeti. Of course we both love our Yeti. This mic is easy to use, the shape fits my recording space very well, it blocks out background noise without making things too quiet, and the sound quality is just great. It works well with the audio program I use, which is a combination of Audacity and Adobe Audition. I feel great with this product. I like the ability to switch between mic modes to better suit different types of recordings, but I don't really like where they placed this disc. I also find that the symbols used for the watch face are not well designed. I've been studying graphic design for a number of years and the icons used to indicate what mode you're in don't make much sense in terms of their function. Going back to the manual to remind me of something they often do, which speaks well for their manual but not for the dial itself. The biggest issue with this mic is what it does to your speakers when you use it connect for the first time. Since I hate using my laptop's internal microphone, I use it when calling people on Skype or Discord. I wasn't prepared for my mic to ruin these services. When you first plug in Yeti, it changes your computer's settings to read like a microphone and speakers. It will take a quick search on YouTube to figure out how to fix this as you only have to disable it as a speaker once and it will then be fixed permanently, but if you don't know it's going to happen it can be very annoying . I do some live voice acting, so it was important for me to fix this early on. I would also like to say that the pop filter I had for the Snowball is the same as the one here and although it has since lost its adjustment knob there is no convenient place to put it on this mic. I decided to do something unusual with my setup, but my pop filter kept getting weaker even before the knob broke. If anyone has any suggestions for a pop filter that works well with the Yeti, I'd love to hear them. All in all this is a great product. It does the job for what I need.
