We've had this cat tree for over a year now and while it's fine if you're on a budget I would highly recommend spending more to get a much sturdier and more durable cat tree. We should periodically trim the wild fibers, which are about an inch longer, closer to the tip, where our single cat consumes the most. Another sturdier pole bought around the same time is still in great condition and used just as heavily. Now in this post we find a year and four months that we will be replacing as all the fairings have left sharp worn fairing areas and it has nicked my fingers and I am concerned about our little girl's paws. We will be purchasing the Smart Cat scratching post as we love its height, durability and the fact that it is a much better investment. The cost doubles but I expect it will last indefinitely although as mentioned it is rarely trimmed but does not wear out. Sisal appears to be of better quality. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I do read reviews and appreciate it when people are honest in them. If you want a short-term position or aren't worried about being replaced in a year or two, that's up to you.
