I learned how to shave with safety razors and then switched to Gillette Trac razors for many years before they (Gillette / Procter & Gamble) decided it would be fun to shave me with to insult and ridicule their prudish advertising. I bought a Merkur safety razor and added the mixture to my travel shaving kit. The Merkur is fine but I never liked it and I was not helped by someone at the restock center by replacing the model I ordered with a much cheaper model with the original packaging. After a recent fusion shave on a road trip, I couldn't believe how lousy he really was. Bad advertising, bad product. Looking for something different, I decided to try Wldoho. It's a beautiful razor, it's built and feels exactly how you want it to feel, it should feel in your hand, heavy but balanced, a solid tool that's fun to use. Merkur has replaced Fusion in the shaving kit, while Wldoho has become the everyday razor. It's fairly aggressive, so a light touch is acceptable unless the bristles are a little stiffer. I think my search for the perfect DE razor is finally over.
