Review on Dazzber Dog Collar Martingale: Heavy-Duty Nylon No Pull Pet Collar for Medium and Large Dogs by Stacy Watkins

The collar has a dangerous flaw but other than that it's very good

I would give this collar five stars and I want it. However, it has a dangerous bug that I wasn't expecting. Can you see the black Dazzber 'brand label' on the collar in the picture? It's a raised piece of rubbery material that's sewn on (quite well) and sticks out far enough that you can't use the entire area to adjust the length. It's quite a long piece of rubber. So of course my pup had to be placed right there but I couldn't because he was in the way. Also, the elastic was long enough that the collar would be too tight if it could be adjusted. So I figured since this is a no-escape type collar with an extension, I might as well leave it a little loose. I happened to stay home today and heard my dog screaming in another room. The collar was so loose that his jaw dangled from the extension. I thought I would have to cut the collar off but I managed to calm him down and keep him from breaking his jaw. This is unacceptable. I like this collar, apart from this danger. When you buy one, the rubber piece is sewn on and can be removed with a very sharp, small utility knife, or maybe even a stitch remover. I strongly recommend removing this part. If the manufacturer is reading this, I would like to ask you to find a better way to put your name on the product than this. If you did, it would change to five stars. However, your "plate" almost cost my puppy a broken jaw. Two stars annoy.
