So they were easy to use just plug in the adapter. The only thing that bothered me is that in my opinion they do not adjust the tension (as advertised). My plugs got very hot with use and I was afraid to leave them on without my supervision. I had a surge protector attached to a thin adapter, then other things attached to the surge protector. The main problem I had was that it overcharged the charger for my rechargeable AA batteries (Energizer brand) and even when I returned to the US (I used adapters in Northern Ireland) the charger stopped working.
