I needed something to regulate the AC voltage I was getting from the house battery in my RV. The TV/DVD player didn't like power surges and I had to do something about it to avoid damaging anything expensive! I've tried a few cheaper DC/DC buck converters but they were just noisy as soon as the voltage changed and nothing could handle the amps consumed by my TV and DVD player. I decided to throw away my extra money and buy this thing to keep my electronics from crashing and I'm SO glad I did. My current goes to this regulator and then to the cigarette lighter/voltmeter so I can control how many volts are going to the cigarette lighter. As I wanted, I get a constant 12.4-12.7 volts net. If the battery level is too low to support 12.5V, the device will automatically turn off and attempt to restart (notifying you that it's time to charge the battery). After several days of searching for the right device to stabilize my performance, I regret not having chosen it sooner. If your situation is like mine, cough up some change and get it. You will not regret it.
