The flat-bladed shears are good enough for regular haircutting techniques. I like having another comb, and the case to keep the shears protected. I was really excited to try the razor and thinning shears, but my son says they pull his hair (despite me holding the shaft of the hair closer to the scalp to prevent pulling), so I don’t use them. There may be more to the technique that I am missing, or maybe they are just dull, even though I have barely used them. Note: I have been cutting my family members’ hair consistently for about 16 years, but I am not a stylist and have no cosmetology background.
