Finally I bought a bag of the right size and with the right strap and length to wear over the shoulder. Although it's leather, it's not very heavy, and it holds my checkbook-style wallet, phone and keys, as well as other "stuff" that I can't seem to be without. The zippers are completely closed. It holds everything I want to carry (because I don't like heavy, stuffed bags) and doesn't get too heavy. The temptation of a big bag is to use it like a big bag and then it weighs a ton. If you like a compact bag, this might be for you.
