Nicely made but the Sony RX100M7 cover makes it bulky inside

all your situations. I have various specialty packs for my DSLRs that I use depending on the circumstances and the amount of gear I need to take with me. I always have a pocket camera with me, even when I'm shooting with large SLR cameras. The bag or case for my P&S that I always carry with me can be pretty minimal in terms of protection as I usually keep it in my bag, but the case should definitely add as little bulk as possible. I was hoping this neoprene sleeve would fit. Not so with my RX100M7. (Might work better with a different camera though.) On the plus side, the materials and finish of this case are excellent. A small pocket for an extra battery is a good idea (and if you don't want that, that little flap is easy to cut off. If you have a Sony grip on your RX100, you probably won't). The design/shape/fit of the main compartment is good. But when the valve is closed, a big problem arises. It adds a lot of bulk as it doesn't wrap around the front of the camera enough to be flat. (The photos with the flap closed in the description are clearly not the RX100M7 inside.) With two layers of neoprene on the front, a zip and Velcro straps - and your camera inside - it's one heck of a bulky package for a compact camera. Comparing this soft case to the two hard cases I have, you can see from the attached photos that it is a bit bulkier. It amazes me that cases that offer MORE protection are actually LESS bulky. (Of course, if you have a camera to take photos and carry an empty case in the bag, the flattened neoprene case is less bulky in this situation.) I like JJC products in general, but this neoprene case doesn't suit my needs when I carry the RX100M7 in my bag . In the photos, the tidy gray hard case (from Aproca) is only slightly larger than the RX100 itself (no extras), and the square black hard case (from Aenllosi) is slightly larger, but I can include two extra batteries and an SD card . Cards. (The Aenllosi case I received is for the Lumix, not the RX100. The Aenllosi Lumix version is smaller and perfect for the RX100M7 + 2 extra batteries and cards.) Both of these cases work well. I have returned the JJC neoprene case and am still looking for a more compact case that folds into my pocket when using the camera.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
